Applies to: Saleculator POS/PDA 4.5 update 4 (4.5.4), Webin 3.7 and Waiter 1.3.0, as relevant to this guide. Download the published packages from Saleculator Downloads.
For native Android order taking, install the Saleculator Waiter app from Downloads. It requires Android 7 or newer and connects to Webin.
Choose between Waiter and PDA #
Waiter is the Android APK for table orders, direct kitchen printing and cashier bill requests. Saleculator PDA is the compact desktop edition that can complete billing and payment; its Windows installer is a separate download. Installing the waiter APK does not install the full POS/PDA application.
Android setup #
- Download and install the current release-signed Waiter APK.
- Activate the device with its supplied key.
- Enter the restaurant’s Webin URL and give this phone a unique device name.
- Run the connection check and sign in using an active staff PIN.
- Configure and test this phone’s printer destinations before taking live orders.
About the earlier UserLAnd/VNC instructions #
Earlier versions of this article described running legacy Java PDA packages inside a Linux environment on Android. Those instructions and old versioned download links are not the current native Android waiter installation method. Existing custom Linux/VNC installations should be reviewed by your installer before changing packages or activation.
If replacing an older debug waiter build, finish/recover pending orders before uninstalling anything. The production-signed APK may require a fresh installation when the previous signing certificate differs.
