Applies to: Saleculator POS 4.6 and later, using the restaurant table screen. This guide covers cashier assignment of waiter names to restaurant orders. Waiters do not need Saleculator user accounts or sign-in for this workflow.
Waiters are maintained as separate staff records. The cashier selects the waiter for an order from the restaurant screen. The assigned waiter is stored with the order and can be printed on the bill and included in the waiter-wise sales report.
Add or update waiter records #
- In Saleculator POS, open Maintenance > Waiters.
- Select New to add a waiter, or select an existing record to edit it.
- Enter the waiter name. Add a waiter code if your business uses codes.
- Keep Active selected for waiters who should appear in the restaurant screen picker. Clear it to prevent new assignments to that waiter.
- Save the record.
Waiter records are separate from POS user accounts. Cashiers continue to sign in with their own POS accounts; no waiter password or PIN is needed for cashier assignment.
Show or hide waiter selection on the restaurant screen #
The waiter selection button is enabled by default. To control its visibility, open Maintenance > Resources, edit the Ticket.Buttons resource, and set the waiter-selection option:
<waiter-selection value="true"/>
Use value="true" to show the button or value="false" to hide it. Save the resource and restart POS to apply the setting.
Assign a waiter to an order #
- Select a table on the restaurant floor screen to open its order.
- On the open ticket screen, choose the waiter button beside the table move and merge actions.
- Select a waiter in the driver-style selection window. The assignment is saved with the open table order.
- To change an assignment, open that table and choose the waiter button again.
- Choose No waiter in the selection window to clear the current assignment.
If no active waiters are configured, add or activate a waiter under Maintenance > Waiters before assigning an order.
Print the waiter on the bill #
The default Saleculator bill prints the assigned waiter when one is set, and continues to print the cashier separately. The KOT and ticket-order templates also use the assigned waiter. If you use a custom ticket template, add this block where you want the waiter printed:
#if ($ticket.getWaiterName())
<line>
<text align="left" length="10">Waiter:</text>
<text>${ticket.printWaiter()}</text>
</line>
#end
View waiter-wise sales #
- Open Webin’s Salesman Report.
- Choose the date range for the receipts to include.
- Set Property to Waiter and run the report.
The report groups receipt totals by the waiter saved on each order. Orders without an assigned waiter are not grouped under a waiter name.
